Did you know that the more work that you have planned for a remodeling project; the more you might need a panel carrier to help you out? This carrier is a tool that helps do just what its name implies – it helps you to carry sheets of paneling as well as other items that are bulky, heavy or just plain unwieldy. Even if you have a bunch of people working on the project, you can get done a lot faster if everyone can be assigned tasks that do not require stopping to help lug and move things all of the time.
To be effective, these tools will have to be strong and durable, but they should also have some protection for the more delicate items that you are carrying. Sheets of drywall can crumble to nothing more than rubble if they are not handled correctly, and other items can also be marred, scratched or otherwise damaged by rough handling and sharp tools. Panel carriers also have to be easy to use. If you need two people to set these up, then they make very little sense to have. The whole point of a panel carrier is to allow you to move sheets of paneling by yourself, after all.
For a person who is going to do a onetime remodeling project, buying an expensive tool that is only going to be used for that one purpose may make no sense. But, there are some of these that are less expensive or can be used for more than just one purpose. If you cannot find something in the right price range or you are unwilling to pay for a one shot tool, there is a chance that you might be able to rent or borrow one for the short time that you will need it, but don’t be surprised if you actually end up needing it for longer than you originally estimated, as is usually the case.
This type of tool is indispensable and can allow you to get further ahead on your project, even if you have helpers coming later in the day. In most cases, it is moving the big sheets of paneling or other items that takes you longer than to actually installing them. Moving your paneling safely should be your most important factor to keep in mind because you do not want to be injured, especially not part way through a project. That is why it is important to remember that although you have it to use, a panel carrier is only as safe as the person using it.
